An Advent of Liberation: Journeying to Find Emmanuel is a daily Calendar of Reflections that brings together voices from across faith perspectives to share their experiences of Emmanuel — God with us. Advent is often a time of drawing-inward that mimics the patterns of staying inside that we embody during winter, and we want to share this calendar as a resource to encourage the reflection that can accompany this turning-in time.

Over the course of Advent, you will hear from these voices by reading inspiring reflections and engaging images, art, video, and song. This prepares us for the season of Christmas and life of incarnation which calls us outward to embody our connectedness as children of God by working together for justice, liberation, and inclusion in our communities.

This project is carefully curated by Re/Generators Mark Guevarra, Nichole Carrubba, Erin Burns and Nadia Busekrus, along with mentor Rosa Manriquez, who over the past five months have sought out reflections from a variety of leaders working for a more just and inclusive world. We are excited to share their wisdom and insights with you this Advent!
