“Rise Up” is an opportunity to be encouraged and supported in our collective resistance. This day will include: teach-ins from community partners working on issues that impact queer and/or API populations, keynote speakers and interactive dialogues on effective organizing strategies, and spiritual practices to explore self-care as queer people of color. We hope to connect, learn, heal, and mobilize with you!
Sliding Scale $10-20 covers lunch and speakers’ honorariums. Pay at the door. This event is sponsored by Network on Religion and Justice (NRJ) and Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies in Religion (CLGS) and its Asian Pacific Islander (API) Roundtable. Speakers include those from: The United Territories Of Pacific Islanders’ Alliance (U.T.O.P.I.A), Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity, Asian Prisoners Support Committee (APSC), and Reconciling Ministries Network. For inquiries, please contact Rev. Dr. Izzy Alvaran at izzy@rmnetwork.org. |
