A CLGS Queering the 2024 Vote* Workshop Series

We invite you to join us for this CLGS Lavender Lunch to learn about the United Church of Christ’s 2024 Our Faith Our Vote | Vote with Love! campaign with Rev. Michael Neuroth, Director of the UCC Office of Public Policy and Advocacy on Capitol Hill in Washington DC.

Elections matter.  Elections determine who represents us in government and set policy for our common life together. Voting is, therefore, not only our civic duty, but also a sacred act of love on behalf of the most vulnerable. As Christians, civic engagement is how we live out the commandment to love our neighbor (Mark 12:30-31), and “speak up” for those in need (Proverbs 31:8-9).

In 2024, as we face an election in which cynicism, polarization, and extremism all are on the rise, we must dig deeply to find that which unites us and righteously resist forces that seek to discourage, disenfranchise, and dehumanize voters.

For over twenty years, the UCC’s Our Faith Our Vote (OFOV) campaign has encouraged members to faithfully engage in our democracy; through voter registration, issue education, and voter empowerment.  As people of faith, we must strengthen our democracy by exercising our sacred duty to vote and ensure that all are able to vote their values.

*The CLGS Queering the 2024 Vote Workshop Series

During the current 2024 US election season, how might we, as LGBTQ people, communities, and LGBTQ-allies, be voices – and votes – of positive change for a nation in such desperate need of justice, hope, love, and compassion?

Come join us for one (or more!) of these CLGS workshops and add your voice to the conversation!
