The restoration of Donald Trump to the presidency raises critical issues for Latinx people in the US. Where do anti-racist, sex-positive, Latinx people go from here?
In this CLGS Latinx Roundtable event, Professor Jorge Aquino (University of San Francisco) proposes a theo-politics response to Trumpism 2.0, folding the first-generation concept of mestizaje into a more intersectional framework.
To organize a coalitional counterpunch to Trumpism, antiracist, post-hetero, Latinx people must work to overthrow both Trump’s white nationalism as well as any Latinx nationalisms that inhibit anti-MAGA alliances — especially with constituents in African American, queer, and trans communities.
