This CLGS African American Roundtable workshop will explore the theological and practical foundations of holy resistance to systems of oppression.

Participants will learn how and why people of faith need to challenge empire and equip participants with tools to organize in their communities and to abolish and disrupt systems of oppression.

Through scripture, history, and actionable strategies, attendees will become equipped to become bold, transformative leaders in their communities.


Workshop Leader 

Rev. Redeem G. Robinson

Rev. Redeem G. Robinson is an ordained minister, political and civil rights activist, and the founder of All Souls Movement, a Black and queer-led interfaith advocacy organization focused on racial justice and voter mobilization. He also leads Holy Trouble LLC, equipping people of faith to disrupt systems of oppression in their communities.

A former elected official from Arizona and activist, Rev. Robinson has a passion for justice and amplifying marginalized voices. Rev. Robinson currently resides in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he occasionally supplies pulpits.
