Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV) is celebrated on this year on 31 March 2024, and in interactive this workshop we will discuss the meaning and importance of TDoV and explore how to bring a full celebration of TDoV to your own religious/spiritual community.
Join us as we brainstorm together and generate ideas about how to include this celebration in your own particular religious/spiritual community contexts!
Workshop Leader
Rev. Jakob Hero-Shaw (he/him) is the coordinator of the Transgender Roundtable at the Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies (CLGS) and a faculty member of the Trans Seminarian Leadership Cohort. He is the Senior Pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church of Tampa. Jakob received his Master of Divinity degree and Certificate in Sexuality and Religion from the Pacific School of Religion and his Master of Arts in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union. Jakob’s greatest joy is raising two amazing kids, Mima and Ruben, with his husband, Allan.
