Join us for the 11th annual lecture in honor of scholar John E. Boswell. This year will feature Sean Burke, PhD, Associate Professor of Religion at Luther College.

Sean D. Burke, author of Queering the Ethiopian Eunuch: Strategies of Ambiguity in Acts (Fortress Press, 2013), argues that contemporary Bible readers have much to learn from the eunuchs of the Bible. Over the centuries, translation practices have rendered many of the eunuchs of the Bible invisible. To render these eunuchs visible today is to confront contemporary readers with a biblical world in which gender and sexuality were much more diverse than has traditionally been assumed.

The lecture and reception are free and all are welcome.
